That one time we took a trip and I forgot my camera.....

These past two weeks have been Spring (but really felt like Winter) holidays for the kids, so we decided to pack up the car and head up to Northumberland to visit family. It took me until one hour into the drive to realise that I had forgotten my camera. Urghh. Immediately I knew that for the whole week we were going to be there, I was going to feel as though I had an itch that I just couldn't quite scratch - totally frustrating !!
Despite the lack of camera ;) we had the best time visiting local areas of interest and just generally loving family time. If I did have my camera I would have taken photos of The Angel of The North at sunset, Warkworth Castle, Druridge Bay, the cutest little flea market in Amble harbour, me in my element shopping (alone!!) in the Metrocentre and the strangest little puffer fish at Tynemouth Sealife Centre (it kinda looked like a pineapple). But instead you get to see 3 hideously shot photos taken on my phone, which I absolutely hate doing. Just. Hate. It.

I can't tell you how much I love holiday time and am super sad its all over - back to the hum drum of routine next week :(

Oh well, not long till summer holidays........:)

My new yellow jumper !! I'm a little obsessed with yellow at the minute.

The pretty view from the flea market. If you squint really hard you can just about make out Warkworth Castle on the horizon.

And cake. Just because.

Also....

I have had THE biggest urge to paint this week. I have absolutely no idea why, I have never painted in my life (well ok, maybe when I was a kid but y'know what I mean). So I'm just going to go with it and buy some materials this week.......*excited*

This week.....

Things have been a bit like this around here recently....

1. The kids have been having fun with the dressing up box again. It's been about a year since the last time they played with it. It seems this time they were trying to dress up the carpet.
2. Evan decided he would try swinging from the curtains in Isabel's room. Mr B will be coming home this weekend to some DIY'ing I'm afraid.
3. Some Easter crafting with Isabel this morning.
4. Another product of our crafting session ( it's a little scary looking, I know).
5. Willing the Spring weather to hurry up with some yellow cushions.

Today marks the beginning of the Easter holidays and I cannot even begin to describe how thankful I am. I plan on spending a lot of it in my pyjamas. What about you?

Whatever you do, enjoy !! xo

Sunday Reflection

Some things I am grateful for this week:

1. My wonderful family
2. Costa coffee
3. Our home and all the (many) little things it holds.
4. Long lazy Sundays.
5. SUNSHINE !!

Oh, I am also thankful for EBay, where I managed to pick up THIS beautiful Modalu 'Pippa' bag for a real bargain. I very nearly bought this bag from a retail shop a couple of weeks back and am sooo happy that I decided to wait!! I love a good bargain :-)

Valentines....

We're not much into celebrating Valentines Day here in the Baskerville House (and when I say 'not much into celebrating', I really mean like never, ever celebrating it). It's not that we are against it per say, I mean how can anyone be against celebrating Love? It's just not a tradition that has ever stuck with us.
BUT, this year, inspiration hit whilst clearing up our daughters bedroom when I came across this tiny little King of Hearts playing card. One pair of arms and legs and a little moveable head later and tahdah.....

'King of My Heart' Valentine for Mr B :-)

HAVE A WONDERFUL VALENTINES EVERYONE !!

If I could live someplace else it would be here......

I stumbled across this wonderfully inspiring apartment tonight whilst searching for some ideas for my own home. There is something about the stripped bare walls, masses of books and alcohol on show that calls to me.......
